The sales may not be quite as high, but Europe is eating up the DS Lite surprisingly well. 

Seems like Europeans loved the DS just as much as America did. Sales totals for the original DS in Europe have topped 4.5 million units. Sales of the original DS should start to drop off now, seeing that the DS Lite is readily available, coupled with the fact that Nintendo is pouring 2.5 million into marketing the DS Lite. Good job Europe, lets see the Lite sales match the original sometime soon!
