Tokyo Game Show Info July 19, 2006
Kutaragi will be the first presentation at the TGS.
Nintendo doesn’t attend Japan’s annual Tokyo Game Show, so when Nintendo president Satoru Iwata showed up to keynote the event, you knew something was up. Iwata ended up revealing Wii’s ambitious controller during his presentation, and this year Iwata’s stepped aside so Sony president Ken Kutaragi, one of the industry’s most quotable men, could kick off this year’s show.
Kutaragi’s presentation, entitled “Next Generation Entertainment Made by the PS3″ will take place on the first of Tokyo Game Show’s three days on September 22nd. He’ll be followed by Square Enix president and Computer Entertainment Software Association chairman Yoichi Iwada discussing “The Game Industry’s Potential and Problems.”
Of course, 1UP will be attending both Kutaragi and Iwada’s presentations in September, and you can stay tuned for our live coverage.
