According to Gamasutra Capcom’s net sales dropped to $91.7M (a 7.5% slip) but saw their profits rise during the quarter.Capcom noted that the video game market “has leveled-off as consumers wait for the release of next-generation video game platforms, namely the PlayStation 3 and Wii. However, the company added that while the sale of software for home consoles has slowed, the demand for games developed for portable consoles ‘grew favorably.’”

Capcom cited Okami’s sales in Japan as part of the reason for its home console success. Okami ships Sept. 15 in the U.S.
