FF III Bundle Successful in Japan August 26, 2006

Will this successful bundle come to the states?  Only time will tell.

Released earlier today in Japan, the Final Fantasy III DS Lite bundle was, as many Final Fantasy products are in Japan, a huge success.

Announced a few months ago, the Final Fantasy III DS Lite Bundle, in addition to a copy of the game itself, includes a special, super-limited edition Final Fantasy III themed version of the Lite, only to be released in Japan. Crystal-white and featuring four of the games’ characters along the top of the system, the bundle has become a huge object of Fantasy fan’s desires.

With line-ups of over a hundred people apiece at some of Japan’s biggest electronics chains, such as Bic Camera and Tsutaya, the bundle has already been considered a success. Luckily, many bundles were manufactured, and customers were easily appeased. And, as IGN.com notes, many stores managed to keep a fair number of units in stock, so chances of getting one over to America are good.

Many online retailers have the bundle in stock, but with mark-ups coming close to $400, expect to forfeit that last paycheck or two. Still cheaper than a round trip to Japan…
