Thanks to Destructoid for this:

Just when it was starting to look like a slow news day, gaminggeek on the GameSpot forums came through with some interesting news. It seems the British magazine NGamer reviewed a whole lot of DS and GameCube games, AND two Wii games in their latest issue.

Red Steel and Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz were the two Wii titles reviewed, with Red Steel scoring a high 90% and Banana Blitz following close behind with 84%.

Here’s what NGamer had to say about the games:

Red Steel:
“This is an important title. So many launch titles falsely claim to be ‘pick up and play’. Newcomers can pick up and ‘do’, certainly, but this offers a proper playing experience. If you want to see what your Wii can really do, Red Steel is a slice above the rest.

“Not only making excellent use of the Wii’s controllers, this is huge fun in its own right. For a launch title to get so much right is an indicator of great things to come.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz:
“A proper return to form for the monkeys and a party game showcase that deserves to be on everyone’s Wii launch shopping list. Impressively solid, hugely entertaining.

“And that’s what it’s all about. Banana Blitz delivers a riotous amount of fun and proves Wii really is something special.

Does this mean Ubisoft managed to fix the control issues with Red Steel?
