Want your GameCube controller ports at the front? January 31, 2007
Well then you are in luck because user hollowfreak at Cheap Ass Gamer has modded his Wii so that the 4 GC controller ports are at the front of the console. Let me rephrase modded to built an extension bay for the Wii. You should be able to tell by the image how it connects to the Wii, but in case you want some more images follow the source link at the end of this article.
Maybe someone knows this better than me (by actually having read the license), but I assume this should not void the warranty and if you actually do use the wired GC controllers instead of the Wavebird, then this could possibly be very useful. It’s just too bad that the GC memory card slots weren’t ported to the front as well. I believe once that is done and the extension bit covers up the whole now decovered black GC connections it may soon regain some style, because as is now, it just looks bulky. The LEDs at the ports are a nice touch, but would at least to me serve as a distraction while playing. I assume they will be lit at all times. Let’s wait and see where this may lead in further modding.

I agree with both of you, but some prefer the lighter wired cables, plus if you’ve already got for wired cables why waste cash and buy 4 Wavebirds? I also think the wireless adapter that plugs into the port is ugly.
gamestop has cheap small gc wireless controllers for like 18 bucks. get one!
