Save the Wii, Save the World February 18, 2007

Warning: Small Hereos spoiler
I’m an avid fan of the NBC show “Heroes”. One of the main villains in the game, Sylar, has telekinetic abilities. He’s used these powers in numerous ways, from stopping bullets in mid air to cutting off someone’s scalp with his finger. Good stuff.
I am definitely waiting for a game to pop up on the Wii that has some sort of telekinetic bent to it, where a flick of the Wiimote can send objects from the environment flying. I’m not too tied up in any particular IP. Whether it’s the Force from Star Wars, Neo’s crazy Matrix skills, or Sylar, I could really care less as long as it is implemented well.
So, here’s to Nintendo or another third party giving us gamers the opportunity to toss crap around. I haven’t played Elebits, but from what I’ve read of it there is a lot of fun to be had in completely trashing a room while looking for the little electric charges. I think the same fun can be had by letting me remove people’s brains with Sylar
Who knows, maybe in the future we can have Physchonauts with the Wiimote FTW?

Thanks for that. Nice blog but it just spoilt heroes for me ever so slightly oh well
“I am definitely waiting for a game … where a flick of the Wiimote can send objects from the environment flying.”
Elebits?
Ben: finish reading his post?
haha, it kills me when people reply to a post before reading the whole thing as Ben did above.
Kind of strange. He first says he is waiting for a game that you can throw stuff around, and then he mentions Elebits. Okay he is waiting, yet you can buy Elebits. What is he waiting for?
Hochiminh, the Elebits videos that I see detail some sort of energy gun in a room, where you can physically see a beam of energy showing up on the screen. That sort of ruins the effect for me - my interest is in a game where you can move environmental objects and people in a larger setting. Think of a GTA-esque sandbox games with those powers.
Also, nice job assuming that I’m a he
I believe a general rule of the english language is that if you don’t know the sex of a person you are referring to, you use ‘he’ over ’she’… another option is to talk as though the person is plural (i.e. they, them). I guess he, she, or they could simplify the whole thing and just use the handle/name of the person he/she/they are referring to.
@reefinyateef: I thought the guy from Heroes was the one who was talking about the telekinetic abilities in games, not yourself. Sorry, I was confuzzled!
Anyway, I see the point. I would suggest before you wait for that one game, to buy Second Sight for Cube. It is a really fun third-person adventure surrounding a character who can perform telekinetic abilities…
heroes is an awsome show, and i cant wait for something like that…it’ll be amazing
