“Wii is a wonderful device” says Sony CEO March 19, 2007

In a recent interview with Sony CEO Howard Stringer, he gave his thoughts on Nintendo’s Wii and failure.
Wii is a wonderful device, but has a different target audience. If we fail, it is because we positioned PS3 as the Mercedes of the video game field. PS3 is after a different audience and it can be whatever it wants — a home server, game device, even a computer.

mercedes, huh? i think the sony execs keep getting dumber and dumber…
It’s just saying that PS3 is the Mercedes, Wii is the Toyato, Holden, Ford etc.
I’d take a Ford Capri over a Mercedes for pure retro-appeal any day!
I agree with a user in a different forum who commented that the real story here is that Sony’s CEO actually considered the possibility of the PS3 being a failure.
Yeah that can’t be good for market share.
I just love the picture I found of this guy, makes me laugh every time I see it.
sony never gives wii a compliment without gently slapping it in the face, ps3 is failing, deal with it and stop politely bashing nintendo, they aint hurtin nobody. luv my wii :]
