The Sims 2: Pets Confirmed for Wii! April 4, 2007

According to the German EA release list, the game will be hitting shelves on the 28th June 2007.
Although it’s nice to see the gaming giant backing Nintendo, wouldn’t it be nice if EA devoted their time to making some new quality games for the Wii, maybe even exclusives? Ports from previous generation consoles seem to be all the rage with developers now, which is unfortunate for those who want new games from EA.
Stay tuned for more on The Sims 2: Pets for the Wii.

Hmm… Looks like a nine rip off of Nintnedogs. I’ll be glad when all the 3rd party developers run out of last gen consoles to port to the new systems too.
See, I don’t mind this port because:
1. Not many people have or even tried this game.
2. It didn’t get many sales.
If the price is right, I’d buy this over a Resident Evil 4 remake. The fact that I’ve never played it would be a factor. I’m kind of interested in the new Prince of Persia port that was just released since I never played it.
This is another of one too many ports in my opinion. So the question is, were these all planned way back when or are they releasing all these ports to capitalize quickly on console sales. Imagine if the system hadn’t sold this well and they released these crappy ports, the system would have been a definite flop, suffering the fate of its last two predecessors. In theory, by next year our tune should change. I think this latest entry is further disappointing knowing that it was an expansion to Sims 2, not even a full game.
