Another Classic Sega Franchise Coming to Wii? April 16, 2007

samba de amigo

Rumor has it that Samba de Amigo, a maracas rhythm game originally released in arcades and later on the Dreamcast might be coming to Wii. The original installment on the Dreamcast utilized a cool set of maracas that players got to shake to the rhythm of the music, not dissimilar to the DK bongos games in essence.

This new game would fit perfectly on the Wii and would be another great opportunity for Sega to reintroduce one of their past franchises. Sega has experienced lackluster sales with many of their releases recently.

Let’s hope they can turn things around for their selves with their (*fingers crossed*) great new releases of Nights, Sonic the Hedgehog and now hopefully Samba de Amigo!

this was such a cool game on the dreamcast! i never could get the maracas tho. i always knew they could remake this for the wii with maybe an extension cord for the wiimote/nunchuck released with it. the nunchuck and wiimote dont extend quite far enough for this game.
