WiiNintendo turns 1! (So does the name “Wii”) April 27, 2007
I held off on a domain name until the name “Wii” was announced 1 year ago today. So, WiiNintendo.net and the name “Wii” share birthdays.
So um… party on!
Before I launched this site, I would post gaming news on my freelance site, basicfunction.com. I started a pretty big rumor when I added flames to a theory that the new Nintendo console was named “Nintendo Go”. I made a fake video that found it’s way throughout the interweb that caused quite a stir, have a look at the video and the story from the (Pre-WiiNintendo days):

I’d like to thank GBAtemp.net, GBAdev.org, and MaxConsole.com for being great forums for me to talk Nintendo for the past 5 years, before I had my own outlet here on WiiNintendo.

SUUUUUUUPER CONGRATULATIONS!! i remember stumbling onto your site shortly after ‘wii’ was released. i was drawn to the site because it had the color scheme i had planned for a vespa i’m working on and since the site is very well maintained and has great info, i’ve fallen inlove with it and have checked it on a daily basis since. thank you hey_suburbia.

Congrats WiiNintendo (and Wii ^^) (and suburbia) for this year.. though I became a reader like 5 or 6 months ago.. I still love the site.. my first check on daily blog reading ^^!!…

reticuse said it all for me. I was searching up the Zelda Retrospect DVD and found the site. I was stunned by the layout theme which, little did I know, drew me back to check up on the news everyday.
