EA has invented a new Wii control system that holds the hand of people blessed with not an ounce of gaming skill.

Set to debut in EA sports titles Madden NFL 08, NBA LIVE 08 and FIFA 08, EA Sports Family Play simplifies the controls for beginners, taking control of the player’s movement so that all you have to concentrate on are the primary actions like shooting, passing, snapping, and throwing. The computer does the rest.

EA says Family Play is “like having an invisible helper on your team.” We say it’s like cheating, but it’s intended to “level the playing field” for everyone to enjoy playing the games, which is always good.

Dave McCarthy, executive producer for the three games set to feature Family Play said: “EA Sports Family Play on the Wii creates an incredibly accessible and user-friendly experience that the whole family will enjoy.

See, I dont see it as cheating.
I see it like AUTOMATIC vs STICKSHIFT in a race.
    Automatic helps out a ton.
But if you know how to drive stick, you have alot more control.
I hope my little comparison helped :|

I guess it all depends on how much of the game the computer controls, may work out to be a disadvantagfe if the movement is all AI.
