Wii gets system update. August 14, 2007

Filed under: Exclusive, News — Max @ 9:51 am

I knew I shouldn’t have hoped for much from a new Wii system update(I can’t help myself), what with the last update and the Metroid Preview Channel , so imagine my surprise and hope to find out that the new update adds god knows what well it fixes a problem that some have been having with the Opera browser freezing and for those using the Wii’s LAN adapter it adds some stability .

Does this update have effect on any of the modchips?

I must admit I do sometimes experience freezes, not only while using the Internet Channel, but on while playing games as well usually Wii Sports. Either I may have left the Wii power plugged in on standby for periods of time or mainly because it’s one of the first generation initial releases before the new hand-straps.

I hope whatever it is, it can be fixed. Mine is not modified.

To Sanic3: Nintendo added a message that said using this update with any unauthorized changes to your Wii may result in damaging your Wii.

However, it is important to note that any modchip may mess up your Wii. At the very least, it voids any warranty. Not to mention, Nintendo (and others) strongly urges you NOT to use any modchips or unauthorized additions to your console.
