System seller or not, it’ll most likely suck.
I wonder if you can use a dance pad in the wii version…
sorry guys I’m gonna have a bit of a rant here X-D I may even post this to my blog… please don’t read it if it may offend you.
I hate the fact that while we in the UK just watch American shows (usually shipped in 6 months after they aired in america e.g. ugly betty christmas episode premiering in march & us getting heroes season 1 when iot is already out on dvd in america) americans have to have their ‘own version’ I’m not talking about anyone on this site but, I’m sure that 50% of americans know basically nothing about the world outside of america, they just live off of stereotypes.
Examples of this include my unlce going to disney land and a number of americans asking him “wow you’re english, do you live in a cottage!” (seriosuly that happened)
Another slightly different example of this is when a zack and wiki trailer was posted on gametrailers, the actors used were australian, yet a lot of the american commentors said “why do they have weird British accents?” or something similar, I mean how ignorant of other people and their cultures can you be.
As a side note a lot of British shows are being remade or have been remade in america, examples include (search on wikipedia if you have not heard of them) The office, strictly come dancing, life on mars, the IT crowd, red dwarf, pop idol.
And also american television seems to have some stupid policy where you have to have about 20 episodes a season, which seems to be why every american television show I watch has the same plot lines as the last (bar heroes & lost)
sorry about that, I know it doesn’t have much to do with video games but I REALLY had to get that out of my system
Are you serious? A system seller? NO.
There are several guys in my office who love golf and dancing. They also love Dancing with the Stars. Some of them skip the first part of MNF for it.
I don’t know if this game will be a system seller, but this is a potentially huge title for the Wii.
There’s a day coming where those guys will see the game on the show, and then ask me about it first thing the next morning.
And as far as America/Brits go, I’m sorry that we don’t live up to your cultural expectations. I’m disgusted that they asked your uncle whether or not their conceptions of the UK were correct. Seriously, they should have done some research, rather than trying to be friendly. That way they could embrace the cultural differences with knowledge and tolerance, much like you.
However, I am glad that all 300 million of us fit into a nice stereotype for you to rant about. That’s one positive!

That does indeed stink (the culture class issues).
But with a show like “Dancing With the Stars”….no offense but for an American audience a show like that needs to be Americanized, given that (for better or worse) the bulk of us are not going to be familiar with b-level celebrities from other countries.
With fictional sit-com type shows like “The Office,” I totally understand the annoyance and doubt about why a “re-make” would be required. (Although, there are differences in terms of what can be said on US network TV verses British TV…so even then the issue isn’t perfectly clear cut.)
But a reality show that relies, at least in part, on the fame of its contestants, can’t fly in a place where the contestants aren’t famous.
Not trying to be rude, or defend annoying American habits. Just saying that in the case of Dancing with the Stars, there are good logical reasons to do an Americanized version.
I meant to say “culture clash issues.”
Not “culture class issues.”
My apologies.
I don’t know what to tell you guys. Its not a system seller in the traditional sense but it will get the job done all the same.
