Well I just got Battalion Wars 2 today (barely) I tried to get it Monday, but Gamestop said comeback Tuesday at 12:00 I got there at 2:00 they had 2 out of 30 left(Thank God!). So I will be doing the Battalion Wars 2 review it will be a little bit different than FloatingWorlds previous Reviews.
I, being the nice guy that I am, included a Video and a few screenshots.

As soon as I got home, I opened the case, put the game in my Wii and got ready to play. The menu pops up and tanks and infantry walk around the world(In the background) in an Advance Wars style. The game starts 200 years in the past with the Solar Army nearly defeated with only one hope for victory: You! The story line is surprisingly good. Another BIG surprise for me was that the acting was done very well. (I won’t go into detail for your sake.)

What was Battalion Wars(Gamecube) missing? If you answered “online multiplayer,” well you’d be right, but now that Battalion Wars 2 is out with full online multiplayer your dreams have come true. I delved into the multiplayer and found that it is amazing and works great. The few matches I played had very few problems with lag.

The game has alot to offer with a lengthy battlefileds and a pretty expansive story you’ll be playing this game for awhile with two armies–the Iron Legion and the Solar Empire(I don’t want to give spoilers, but those are the main armys). You take control of your battalion, composed of several different types of units: a few rifle-wielding grunts, a flamethrower dude, a couple of antitank guys with bazookas, and a big fat tank. Later you will get more, such as airships and water vessels, which are my favorites. Like on the GameCube, you can switch between these units with the D pad, and then hold A to switch to a new unit type. At that point, you’re free to control the unit with standard analog-stick controls and a lock-on for easy aiming and firing. You can now direct individual units to move to specific points on the map and attack who you want them to.

It’s pretty much a nonstop frantic battle until you hit that end point (A weird reminder of Brawl for me). In the online mulitiplayer each side has a couple of buildings in the matches, and capturing an enemy building like a factory will increase your troop resupply rate and decrease that of your enemy. In fact, if you push all the way to your opponent’s final base at the far end of the map you would find it guarded by a number of big automated turrets. (Which you will see in the story mode a lot.)

The latest Advance Wars, Days of Ruin, will eschew that series’ trademark silly visual style in favor of a more serious aesthetic that’s more consistent with the brutal realities of war. Battalion Wars 2 developer Kuju is sticking to the same candy-coated guns as the first game. All the scrappy little soldiers have the same cartoon like proportions and exaggerated expressiveness that you remember from the first Battalion Wars, and the previous Advance Wars games, too.

What I’ve seen so far looks right in line with the original game’s mechanics and spirit. The game is out and I highly suggest you get it now!

Visuals = 226
The game certainly is eye candy, but in a different was if you like a cartooney visuals it’s fairly good and the water in the game looks amazing which is hard to do if you didn’t know.
Sound =312
It has Excellent voice acting and acting over all which really immerses you into the experience of the game.
Fun Factor = 226
With friends given to us through it’s online capability’s is Awesome and always a good time. When your alone you will have fun from just from trying to make sense out of the insane battles to trying to enjoy the view it will give you alot of well spent game time.
Mechanics = 198
The controls haven’t changed much and there’s not much innovation ,but there’s also no useless waggle controls: a little bit of a double edge sword there.
Replay Value = 386
The game has long lasting gameplay with the multiplayer, though, eventually you might get a little bored after weeks of playing single player and that seems like the reasoning behind the addition of online capability.Total = 1348

Grade = B

    There were a few things I was disappointed in, namely lack of splitscreen and quick completion time, but all in all it was a great game. I love the online!

    One thing I have come to not like is the lack of Multiplayer becouse my brother will come in and want to play with me and he can’t. At least we have Online.
