Nintendo to pull advertising? December 8, 2007
![]()

There have been reports that Nintendo of Europe may pull their TV ad campaign in the UK because of the Wii’s overzealous popularity and the Big N’s struggle to meet demand during the holiday season. Personally, it makes sense to pull ads right now because word of mouth is free!
Some quotes from and a link to the entire article can be found after the jump:
“As we are keen to act responsibly we are potentially looking at moving some advertising on some products into early 2008.”
It is understood that because the television commercials do not have a festive flavour, they will be able to be used next year.

Makes sense. If people can’t buy the product, there’s no sense in advertising it. Better to let the word of mouth take its course and advertise it next year. Shame there won’t be a Brawl campaign in the UK then, though, as they apparantly need 5 language tracks before us poor English can buy it… :S
still advertising will reach a broader audience than word of mouth
i agree…but i already stated this opinion in the other post about the same thing (just a few down from this one).
