The Wii just made it through another milestone, over 20 million consoles sold worldwide… and you still can’t buy one at a store, amazing.

After the Wii surpassed 360 sales in late August 2007, it has been gaining more of a lead everyday. To put the Wii’s sales growth into prospective The PS2 (at the same point in it’s life) was at 9 million consoles sold.

Has the Wii outsold PS2 yet? Or is that the next mark to hit?

The PS2 has sold around 45 million (over 8 years), The Wii is a little less of half that in just 14 months.

I’m really curious as to whether it will outsell the PS2 ultimately. I know it’s already there in a quarter of the time, but I think the PS2 is still selling strong from what I’ve read.

Well that’s weird it was 20M now it’s back at 19.97M which is still awesome!
