Sears selling Super Smash Bros. Brawl early (rumor) February 29, 2008
GoNintendo reader PRC902 says he picked up Brawl early from Sears. Time to bum-rush your local Sears location!
If anyone else manages to snag a copy, PLEASE shoot over an email with some pics/video!
This may be a review copy from a media outlet, but it does appear that some Sears locations do have the game in stock.

No dice. Called the two Sears locations in Rochester, NY.

I called 7 locations in and around Philadelphia, no dice here too.

its not a rumor i saw ssbb on sears website before 4 days exactly.. it was online and instock but im not living in usa so i forgot about it.. but now they deleted it from the website.. also check go nintendo comments on this title and you will find the sears online ssbb link. just to clear things up that its not fake or rumor.
This is no rumor, brawlcentral.net’s forums has a guy which posted a video of some characters talking in English like:

I work at Sears. Sears does not sell Brawl early. Don’t come to Sears and ask. It’s possible that some idiot put a few copies out early in one store, but dont get your hopes up, it probably wasn’t the one near you. More than likely this is just a rumor.
I almost got a copy at my gamestop but the manager just happened to walk by… dng it =[
It is not a rumor or fake. I HAVE IT AND IT IS AWESOME!!!! but i did not get it from sears……. I GOT IT FROM EB GAMES. Go there ask for brawl, pay for it. O yah and by the way there are more characters in the US version and I live in Canada.
there are 55 characters in total.
I called a sears store and they said they’re getting shipments on tuesday, and if they get Brawl and it doesn’t have a ‘don’t sell until’ date, they can sell it. I’m not telling you where though, since I want a copy. All I’m telling you is that it’s in California.
I visited a couple Sears down here in California and although they received their shipments of Brawl, they can’t sell them until the 9th. I was told the same thing at one of the Sears store that they’d be receiving their shipments on Tuesday (March 4).
oh man its true i did a video chat with a guy on xbox live he had to tvs and brawl and he showed me game play i got see all the stages and characters and he showed it was the american version p.s. i preordered it and i have it and its 2 days until the official sale in most stores
