Destructoid at SSBB competition coverage March 3, 2008

There were 256 people in the tournament. I believe I was number 120-something. It was so much fun! Not only did I get to play the game a week early, but I also advanced past the first round! I’m pretty sure the guy who beat me in the top 128 round went on to the top 16. The biggest problem for us was that we had to use the Classic Controllers, but at least no one had the advantage. It was new for everyone. On the free-play kiosks that were set up in the lobby, you could play 4 players with the Wii Remote. This was much more difficult to use when you are used to the GCN Controller. I played twice on the free-plays while using Pit, who I’m pretty sure will be my new favorite. The pics are on my facebook account, which I’m pretty sure you can view w/o having an account or being my “friend.” I’m not sure about the video (of my 1st round battle) on facebook, though. It was taken by my friend (since I couldn’t take it myself), and he hasn’t put it on Youtube, as far as I know.

I was at an anime-con last week and played this in Japanese format.
With out a doubt it has become my obsession. I have never played a game this fun. I rank it above gears of war in multiplayer fun.
It was worth the wait for sure.
The guy at 2 minutes looks/sounds like Ashton Kutcher in disguise…
D= maybe he can put to rest all these rumors about not having a japanese voice option.
