Rock Band for Wii: Details March 24, 2008

Rock Band is scheduled to debut for Wii this June (June 22 to be exact). It will sell at 169.99 and include a wireless guitar, a drum set, microphone, and the acual game disc. Unfortunutly Rock Band for Wii will not feature any online play nor downloadable content. There will be 63 songs in the final set list. Five of which were not included on Rock Band for the PS2, PS3, or 360. “The feature-set is a lot closer to the PS2 version of Rock Band which was also developed by Pi Studios” says Harmonix, creator of Rock Band and the Guitar Hero series. None of the instruments will be compatable with the wii remote, the developers have decided to focus on the core aspect of gameplay.

Interesting. I’m still not sure if it will be worth it… What’s everyone else think? I’m not so excited that it’s $170 and I’ll have to buy another guitar to play 4-player. And I’m not sure why they would not try new things for the Wii instead of “focusing on gameplay.” I think features are part of gameplay, but that’s my opinion I guess.
The lack of downloadable content sucks. Am I crazy to think that a 2 GB SD card and the WiFi connection couldn’t have been used?
I think they more likely decided to focus on getting this “out the door” and not on “game play”.
Another 2nd rate PS2 port.
Actually I waited for news on Rock Band for Wii - AND I was thinking about spending 160 bucks too. But no downloadable content? Hell no!

Was looking forward to this. I envisioned a more elaborate use of the Wii controller (e.g. wii controller should be ideal for drums) rather than the original play style.
I’ll likely get it anyway.
are you serious there is no downloadable songs-that sucks! But you could always download a software for making your own song and notes thats wat my friend has! Can u play online with other people?
well none of that really bothers me price meh no downloads meh no character creation makes me mad but ill live just be happy 2nd and 3rd party brands even still care about the wii i’ve been waiting for this for so long couldn’t be more happy
