What the Wii is capable of, graphically: Video April 21, 2008
“The Conduit,” showcases High Voltage’s Quantum3 gameplay engine, which has been designed to make the most of the Wii system.

I was very surprised by what Wii can do when I saw this tech demo. I’m really looking forward to The Conduit.
So do I, but I’m afraid this game will be a 1P game like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
I’m just curious on the style the game would play, hopefully a fast-paced Unreal Tournament/TimeSplitters style. If they do plan on a good multi-player, I hope they’re working out all the tweaks to become as glitch-free as possible.

This is the way Wii games are SUPPOSED to look. THIS is what Iwata was talking about when he said “You will say ‘Wow!’”
IMo it looks like crap… sorry it really does…
I suppose you are entitled to your opinion… but the video is compressed, you know.
Besides, the droppings in question (that you say it looks like) could be very detailed
Doesn’t look good in my opinion, too. I miss antialiasing, more detail, and the lighting is very off. But the Wii was never meant as a graphics powerhouse, and we still have a lot of fun with with.
you mis anti-aliasing, and more detail?… that’s contradictory preferences. Anti-aliasing blurs the edges to soften things up, upon softening up graphics you lose some detail…
I watched the video of this on IGN and it was much sharper, so you could more easily see the details they are talking about… and while it’s definitely good news that someone is pushing the limits of the wii and finding ways to do certain affects, I agree that this sample video isn’t necessarily the bees knees. I think when the engine is used by a truly creative game development studio though, that it will indeed be awe inspiring for what we are used to on the wii.
You know, the Mario games have much too little detail.
