More Mario Kart Wii package update info… (fake) May 11, 2008

Right from the serpents mouth:

I can never underestimate nintendo or Shiggy and his crew for once again nintendo has amazed me. I can’t wait for this update, it should provide countless hours of gameplay and just by looking at some of the courses I think I have a feeling about some of the new characters and this is an incredible list. This really has made my day.

This appears to be fake, here is the link to the Iwata asks Mario Kart Wii page and there is nothing about the new levels on there.  You’ll also notice the wrong type-face and bad formatting in the screen shots.  Link:

  2. Gravatar Disk Says:

That second image looks like something quickly made in MS Paint. It doesn’t appear to be formatted correctly, and it also has a lot of grammar mistakes.

  3. Gravatar Stephen Miller Says:

is there going to be a package for super smash bros brawl

  4. Gravatar Niku Says:

That looks too suspicious. Where did these images come from and why doesn’t the adress work? I can’t access that website.

  5. Gravatar hey_suburbia Says:

yeah, this looks fishy. I’m filing it under rumor right now.

wiiworldmanager, where did you get these images?

  6. Gravatar wiiworldmanager Says:

the link was working before but now not even I can access it. Could it be a deleted document?

  7. Gravatar Disk Says:

Probably not. That second image basically gets rid of any credibility it had; the Iwata asks segments don’t have a jagged layout like that, and I’m sure that the people transcribing the interview would at least add some capital letters and commas where they’re needed in that thing.

  8. Gravatar wiiworldmanager Says:

well it was actually a crappy picture so its probably hard to see some of the comma’s and as for the jagged layout that was accidentally taken in the picture when I was trying to highlight something.

  9. Gravatar DASMASHA Says:

D***** wiiworldmanager you get me all excited that theres gonna be so much new downloadable content and you have to make it all fake! S***! Can anyone confirm that there will at least be an update?

  10. Gravatar Toph Says:

  11. Gravatar koolguy Says:

  12. Gravatar Kriv Says:

Seriously, how could you not spot that fake? The big give away was the clarity of the address bar compared to the rest of the text.

  13. Gravatar koolguy Says:

i found nothing WIIWORLDMANAGER GO TO H*** AND STOP TRYING TO MAKE EVERY1 ALL EXCITED AND THEN MAKE THEM BUMBED OUT!!!

  14. Gravatar wiiworldmanager Says:

things were pics I found on the internet I did not make this myself

  15. Gravatar bowmessage Says:

oh yes, because the internet is always right.

    Way to research.

  16. Gravatar Bob Says:

i mean cmon did you even go to the page that you provided the link to? the text there is completely different to the one supplied in the images.

I knew this was fake as soon as i saw they didn’t include the legendary Choco Mountain in the update text. That’s just not possible.

  17. Gravatar cory Says:

take this s*** off. it’s obviously a fake…look at the formatting!

  18. Gravatar Bob Says:

i totally agree this is a completley illigitimate article and should be removed or at least edited to say that it’s just “speculatory and in no way true since the images are doctored”
