Rumors: Pokemon Dusk Gold and Dawn Silver June 19, 2008
Recently, Pokemon Platinum version was apparently “leaked” all over the web when new scans of the game were published on Seribii.net’s homepage. The anticipated rumors were finally revealed to be real, and Pokemon Platinum version was announced to release in Japan sometime in late 2008.
Other rumors included that Nintendo had Copyrighted the names “Dusk Gold” and “Dawn Silver”. Due to the excitement of these rumors many Pokemon G/S hacks were made, most specifically Pokemon Shiny Gold(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LE82h0w11nA&feature=related) These rumors were said to be false. However, hope is starting to rise again when Pokemon Platinum version was announced just a week or so ago.
When the rumors started spreading(a few months ago) one member of the serebii forums stated the reasons why the rumors were most likely real.
- The very first thing in D/P is about the Red Gyarados… so what? Everyone knows the Red Gyarados in G/S….
- Jasmine is in the game and she’s talking about… what? Johto
- Prof. Oak is talking about a white stone which has to do with Kanto’s history… Well, except of a white stone which was in front of the Space Lab in Mossdeep City in R/S/E there was no white stone, so it could be a part of a new history in DG/DS.
- In the game data there are the special Pokéballs of Johto. So Nintendo included them in D/P for the symbol and to catch if you trade a Pokémon of Johto to Sinnoh. We’ll see….
- Nintendo knows how popular G/S is and they also know the well known ROM Hack remake of it… Shiny Gold. That’s no lie! I don’t know if they know how popular SG is but they know G/S were one of the best games ever.
Over the months the rumors were confirmed to be fake, but so were Pokemon Platinum’s. Now that Pokemon Platinum is confirmed to be real, could there be a possibility these rumors are true as well?

lol gamesaves. The chikorita pic is un-edited, but a gamesave was made to make the game read it as if it was from Johto.
Those scans were debunked LONG ago as fake. Not only that, but this speculation has been surviving forever simply because people want these remakes so badly. Could it happen? Sure.
But the hard truth is that there is NOT A SHRED OF EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THAT.
So don’t hold your breath. And don’t propagate false rumors.

Tha chicorita pic is fake (it would say elms lab or somthing unless traded to dpp) And that serebii fourm comment has no proof whatsoever of a remake it is jut pointing out some cameos….

Yes,I know the pictures are fake(I even state it in the article), but they also said Platinum’s were fake to. All I’m saying is that if Platinum has finally been revealed as true, could these be true as well?

The Chikorita pic is from Pearl and Diamond. Somehow in the game system, they have the possibility to have pokemon imported from Johto, But there is no way to import from Johto, unless they made new games
hopefully this is real…i plan on dling both of them…along with platinum…lol yay!

The picture with chickorita, they just hacked the pokemon, you could say it came from Johto, or a Resturant.
The pokemon in question was made with Action Replay.
If a remake was going to happpen i would pick dusk silver so i could get lugia cuz ho-oh sucks.
i luved those games they wheir better than d/p/r/s/e 4 shure i luved all the hacks i did on them i was wonderin if they would have the same hacks as b-4????
it would be awsome but what if this is just a rumor and nintendo only put this stuff in games so that we wont forget about g/s/c . it would make sense but i really want ds remakes!
my theory on the remakes of gold and silver is that nintendo has to make them because first off, every pokemon fan has to agree thet
gold/silver/ and crystal were the best pokemon games so far and
nintendo should never not make a game that WILL trust me WILL
make them more money than any other pokemon game, even if they did
make it on the gameboy advanced will make them tons of money,
especially since every one that i know who has gold, silver, or
crystal for the game boy color their eternal memory on the game for some reason went dead so you cane save, turn off, turn on, then will only say new game, or options. its happened to my g,s,c, (yes i own all three)0, and it makes me very sad :(… but i found out how to restore silvers memory, you put new freshly bought double a batteries turn on silver play for a little while or however long you want to play, save, but keep on and place somewhere and let the batteries die. put different ones in and check your game, you will be able to continue, but only 2 or 3 times and then you have to do this all over again.
if i was nintendo i WOULD MAKE THESE GAMES AS SOON AS I COULD!!! hopefully people that work at nintendo look at my and everyone elses comments!!!

They really should make these games (even the pictures are possibly false, they look sick). besides Gold and Silver owned and games can only get better!

I’m pretty sure it’s real if they have Copyrighted the names Dusk Gold and Dawn Silver. But until an actual reveal, I would just say these games are not fake, but unconfirmed. We are just speculating right now so nobody get their undies in a bunch.
Its cool that they (HOPEFULLY I STILL DONT BELIEVE THE ACCUSATIONS ABOUT DG/DS) are goona do remakes about G/S but what they should do is make, well REMAKE, Yellow Version….now that would be good
They did remake red and blue as fire red and leaf green, so im sure the reasonings are there
Pokemon Gold is my fave pokemon game ever, even above the newer ones..
one of the main reasons, being that you could travel between two regions when you beat the elite four instead of just having to fill your pokedex
even if they remade them, id still buy them and stuff but the original gold and silver will always be my faves.
I really wish they would make a remake of G/S. Gold was my first pokemon game, It would be great if they make dusk gold and dawn silver.

they really should because the remake of red version was on GBA so at least gold & silver should be on ds and include gettin all 16 badges
it would be so good if it did happen im a great fan of all pokemon and love johto i love lugia so it should happen because they remade red into fire red so y not make new silver and gold it would be class
plz let them do it i have completed every game from red blue yellow to diamond and pearl even gale of darkness and colosseum i would love to play D/G and D/S and if they bring it out for the ds the graphics and cameplay are gonna be class so plz do it nintendo
The screen shots of chikorita are not fake, there is code in d/p to display a pokemon from being traded from the johto region. that dosent mean that there will be a remake, but if they ever do decide to make a remake, there wont be any campatbilty issues with it for d/p.

Haha my favourite game was Silver, and I would love to see these releases, these games always make alotta money for Nintendo, so why not make them? They trademarked the names Dusk Gold and Dawn Silver, so I’m hoping sooner or later it’ll happen eh?
they need to make these two games. the original was best and always will be. if they make these they will be making bank! also it will go up on the top 5 sellers and will make them probly about as much as hoenn and sinoh put together made them
i want pokemon g/s remake be confirmed is a great game, is jhoto the mystic region is full aventure and fun i cant wait !!!
this would be cool if they brought out dg & ds as platinam will make a lot of money on release these games would two as we know these games were good on gbc but on ds they would make a briliant game.
if gold and silver remakes come out their would be able to do alot more stuff also a lot easier to complete the pokedex
