Gamers hoped that Nintendo would announce a storage solution for Wii today at their conference. Unfortunately, they didn’t, and we are all left to wonder if Nintendo even cares to fix the situation. Well, Miyamoto seems to acknowledge the situation, so that’s always good news. Here’s what he has to say on the subject…

“There isn’t anything that we can announce today, but we have been thinking along a variety of different lines regarding this matter for some time now,” Shigeru Miyamoto told IGN. “So my hope is that sometime in the not too distant future we will be able to discuss some concrete solutions.”

You’ve given me some hope, Miyamoto. I’m not even asking for a hard drive, I’m simply asking you to allow me to run my VC and WiiWare games off of my SD card. A simple firmware update will do. Don’t let me down Miyamoto!
