Nintendo allowed us to view the Game Developers Conference this year, as Mr. Satoru Iwata gave the keynote. If you were not able to watch, here are the big points that were previously unknown. Many of the Nintendo 3DS info came from a guest appearance by Reggie Fils-Aime.

  • Netflix will be on Nintendo 3DS this summer, and you will be allowed to stream on Nintendo 3DS and Wii at the same time. In addition, it will sync with other versions of Netflix (i.e. you can pick up from where you left off on another system).
  • Nintendo 3DS will have 3D movie trailers. Example mentioned is Green Lantern.
  • 3D short-form movies, music, and other shows coming to Nintendo 3DS.
  • Video recording coming to Nintendo 3DS! More info to come later.
  • Over 10,000 AT&T hot spots by late May in North America for Nintendo 3DS.
  • Nintendo 3DS eShop will include the following: DSiWare, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, GameGear, TurboGrafx16, 3D Nintendo Classics, & Game promotion (i.e. trailers).
  • The Nintendo 3DS worldwide system update in late May will include DSiWare, DSiWare transfers, web browser, and eShop.
  • New Mario for Nintendo 3DS. Temporary logo has a tail on “Mario.” More info coming at E3 2011.
  • Zelda Ocarina of Time for Nintendo 3DS coming in June 2011.
  • Zelda 25th Anniversary project being worked on by Miyamoto and others.
  • Zelda: Skyward Sword trailer shown. Nothing terribly new, but it looked great!

For a time, Nintendo of America will continue to replay the recording at
