OFFICIAL 3DS Ambassador Games Competition!

by Jeremy HardinOctober 10, 2011

The competition is now over. Check out the winners on our forum thread. For detailed high scores, head to each week’s thread in the forums (links at the bottom of this post). Thanks to all who competed, and congratulations to all our winners!

As the title suggests, we here at NintendoFuse wanted to host a friendly, little hi-scores competition for all you 3DS Ambassadors.  Of course, little did we know that what we thought would be a simple little contest turned out to be freaking HUGE! So, without further ado,

Let’s do it!

Since there are 10 NES games available for you Ambassadors, we have decided to split the competition out over the course of 6 weeks.  Every Sunday morning, we will inform you of which games are eligible for the hi-score competition that week.  Our first week of the hi-score competition will begin this Sunday, October 16, 2011 and will run until Saturday October 22, 2011 @ 11:59 pm.  As to which games you will be competing in, well you need to wait until Sunday morning to find that out.

Okay, now we’re going to get into prizes/winnings so pay close attention.

We have several prizes to give away over the course of these 6 weeks.  Some of the prizes include DS, 3DS and Wii games, figurines, shirts, misc swag and well, there’s more.

You will have until midnight (EST) the following Sunday to get your entries in on our forums.  Each week, the top 3 hi-scores submitted will be our winners.

You are eligible to win every week, if you are willing to put the time into each game.

At the end of the contest, we, the staff here at NintendoFuse will take the 3 winners from each week and determine who are to be the GRAND PRIZE WINNERS using a method of our choice*.  Yes, you read that correctly.  Not only can you win FREE stuff for 6 weeks in a row, you can also be eligible to win one of our GRAND prizes! All you have to do is play some games, register on our forums and post your scores! How incredibly easy and fun is that?!

Are you ready for these GRAND prizes that I speak of? Okay, here goes.  Feast your eyes on these!

You must register on our forums (it’s free!)

Entries must be in the form of either a video or a picture.

All entries must clearly show your 3DS unit, the hi-score screen, and we must be able to clearly see the hi-score.  Please make sure you include a slip of paper with your screen name on it in the photo.  See below for a good example.

Your entries must be posted on the OFFICIAL COMPETITION FORUM and you are more than welcome to update your entries throughout the week.  So remember, if you see someone has a better score than you, get back on the game and go for higher! Stay tuned and be alert.  Check back here and/or the forum post on Sunday October 16, 2011 to find out what games you will be competing in first!

Also, this contest is in no way connected to Nintendo of America. It is being run completely by NintendoFuse with the help of a few generous donors.

* I said it was ‘our choice’, now quit wondering how.  Why are you even reading this? Go and start racking up some hi-scores!

There were several different companies who made it possible for NintendoFuse to host the Official 3DS Ambassador Challenge. I’d like to take a moment to put their names/logos up on our site for all to see in a show of APPRECIATION and GRATITUDE. Thank you to all for your generosity!!

Jeremy's love of gaming, especially Nintendo started in the late 80's when his parents bought him and his older brother an NES. Many hours were spent playing Mario and Duck Hunt. Eventually Jeremy graduated to bigger and better games and systems, like the SNES, GC, Wii, 3DS, and finally to the Wii U. Ask him what the defining moment of his childhood gaming was and he'll answer, "the day I beat Zelda 2." To this day that game holds a special place in his heart. His favorite types of games are platformers. Jeremy started blogging for NintendoFuse in October 2010. He started off as a lurker on the forums who won a free copy of And Yet It Moves on WiiWare. From there he realized he liked the forums and the site and wanted to remain a part of it.
